Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026 · Version 2026-09-29
Gomer Games LLC (“we,” “us”) operates Gomer Games from New York, United States. This policy covers gomergames.com, play.gomergames.com, and Gomer Games experiences that link to this policy. Our initial audience is adults and teens in the United States. Our website is accessible from other locations; that does not remove rights you have under applicable law.
What works today
- You can play as a guest. Guest progress and settings stay in your browser.
- Optional accounts use Google Firebase for email/password sign-in, a display name, a permanent player number, and an account record.
- Word Search automatically synchronizes progress with Cloud Firestore when you use a verified account with completed setup. Other games currently keep their saves locally. See Word Search cloud saves and your choices.
- Advertising and Google Analytics are not currently enabled. AdMob is planned for a future app release.
Information we process
- Account information: your email address, Firebase user identifier, sign-in provider, email-verification status, and account/sign-in metadata. Your password is sent to Firebase for authentication; we do not store it in the game-save database.
- Account record: your chosen display name, an assigned permanent player number, creation/update timestamps, a record-format version, age eligibility, and the Terms version and time accepted when you finish account setup. Depending on account setup, age eligibility records your self-reported confirmation of 13+ or an age group of 13–17 or 18+. If an age in years is requested to finish an account, it is used in your browser to determine an age group; the exact number is not sent to the account database. We do not require your real name, birthday, identity documents, phone number, or payment details. Avoid putting private information in your display name.
- Technical information: providers receive information needed to deliver and protect the service, including IP addresses and browser/device information. Account actions load Firebase software from Google. A returning signed-in session may also load it to check account status and synchronize Word Search. A fresh guest visit without a saved account session and the initial age screen do not initialize Firebase.
- Local game data: scores, boards, progress, settings, and cached game files are stored in your browser. Word Search keeps a local save as well as any synchronized cloud copy. Information you choose to include in a support request is separate.
- Word Search cloud data: puzzle identifiers and board information, selected difficulty, found words and bonus words, completion and chest progress, gem balances and reward records, puzzle-opening times, and save revisions. Cloud saves are linked to your Firebase user identifier and include creation/update times and identifiers used to detect conflicting or repeated saves. Local account and synchronization records also help resume pending saves; passwords are not included in game saves.
- Support and privacy requests: your email address and whatever information you send us, such as a description of a problem. Please do not email passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
We receive information from you, your browser, and the service providers described below. We do not currently offer public profiles, chat, or a public account directory.
Why we use it
We use account information to create and authenticate accounts, verify email ownership, send verification and password-reset messages, and manage account records. We use Word Search cloud data to keep progress available across devices signed into the same account and to detect conflicting saves. We use technical information to deliver the website, diagnose problems, protect accounts, and prevent abuse. We use support information to answer requests, resolve problems, and meet legal obligations. Account registration does not subscribe you to promotional email.
Word Search cloud saves and your choices
Cloud saving is currently available in Word Search. When you open Word Search while signed in with a verified email and completed account setup, it checks your account and cloud save. If that account has no cloud save, the progress already on this browser is uploaded automatically. If the local and cloud progress differ and require a choice, the game asks which save to use. Choosing the device save replaces the cloud copy; choosing the cloud save replaces the local copy. The game does not combine conflicting saves.
While you remain signed in, the game attempts to send progress after finding bonus words, completing rounds, opening chests, changing the gem balance, or leaving or hiding the game. You can also choose Save to cloud now in the cloud-save controls. It retries pending synchronization when a connection is available. Not every local change is uploaded immediately. Check the cloud-save status before switching devices or clearing local data; an offline, pending, or failed save may exist only on this browser.
To keep future play local, choose guest play or sign out. Signing out stops account synchronization but leaves progress on this browser; anyone using the same browser can continue that local game. Guests and accounts share one local Word Search save, so signing into a different account can offer or upload that existing progress to the other account. Use separate browser profiles or clear local data when you do not want to share local progress.
Word Search’s Delete all local data control removes Word Search data from this browser and signs you out. It does not delete your account or cloud save. You can sign in again to choose the cloud copy. To delete account-linked cloud progress, use account deletion or contact us as described below.
Providers and disclosures
- Google Firebase: Authentication handles sign-in and account emails; Cloud Firestore stores account records, player-number reservations, Word Search cloud saves, and deletion-status records. Cloud Functions processes account-deletion requests. Google also processes technical information to operate and protect these services. See Firebase’s privacy and security information.
- GitHub Pages: hosts this website. GitHub states that it logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security, even when visitors are not signed into GitHub. See GitHub Pages data collection.
- Email services: process correspondence when you contact us and when account-service emails are delivered.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect users and the service, or establish or defend legal claims. Authorized people working for Gomer Games LLC may access information as needed for these purposes. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Browser storage and tracking
The games use browser storage, such as localStorage, to retain progress and preferences. Cached files and service workers support offline play where available. Firebase uses persistent browser storage to keep you signed in until you sign out, clear site data, or the session otherwise ends. Sign out on shared devices.
The account page asks for a fresh age confirmation on each new signup attempt. An under-13 answer stops that attempt and is kept only in page memory; it does not create a saved browser lock. Older saved age-lock records are ignored and removed when browser storage allows. After account creation, signup evidence, including your age confirmation or age group, screening time, display name, and accepted Terms version, is stored in the browser and linked to the new account identifier until setup or deletion completes. An unfinished deletion marker remains until deletion succeeds or browser storage is cleared.
A small account-session flag lets Word Search check account status on a later visit without loading Firebase for fresh guests. The flag itself contains no email or user ID. Separate local records can contain the last account’s identifier, display name, player number, and synchronization status so the game can show account status and recover pending saves. Word Search clears the account identity hints when it switches to guest play. Signing out stops synchronization but keeps local gameplay. These records do not contain passwords or the exact age entered.
These functions are separate from advertising or analytics tracking. We have not enabled Google Analytics or an advertising SDK in this release. We do not track your activity across other companies’ websites for advertising. Our current practices do not change in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal. There is no current sale or targeted-advertising activity to opt out of through Global Privacy Control.
Clearing site storage removes local saves and sign-in state from that browser. It does not delete your Firebase account or cloud saves. Deleting an account does not clear saved progress from your devices.
Storage locations and retention
Gomer Games LLC operates in the United States. Firebase Authentication processes account data in US data centers. Other provider processing locations depend on the service and its configuration; providers may use facilities outside your state or country. See the provider information above.
Account information and Word Search cloud saves are retained while the account exists, unless replaced or deleted sooner. Unverified accounts are still accounts; the current system does not automatically expire them. You can request account and cloud-save deletion through the account page or by email. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle and document the request, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
Firebase states that Authentication keeps logged IP addresses for a few weeks and removes other authentication information from live and backup systems within 180 days after account deletion is initiated. This timing is specific to Firebase Authentication; it is not a retention promise for every provider or record. Firestore account records and their cloud saves are deleted separately. Limited records may need to be retained for security or legal reasons; we explain relevant exceptions when handling a deletion request.
To prevent player numbers from being reused, account deletion leaves a permanent retired-number record containing the number and its creation time, without the deleted account’s identifier, display name, or email. A separate deletion-status record uses the account identifier to block further saves and support retries. Completed deletion records are marked to expire 72 hours after completion; actual removal depends on backend cleanup. Unfinished deletion records may remain until the request is resolved.
Local game data remains until you, your browser, or the game removes it. We do not control how long a browser retains site data.
Your choices and requests
You can choose guest play, sign out, change your display name or password, resolve a Word Search save conflict, and clear local game data. You can also request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your account information and cloud saves by emailing privacy@gomergames.com. A request does not require a new account. Tell us the account email and the action requested; never send the password.
We may verify that you control the account before providing or changing its information. Depending on the law that applies, you may have additional rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, appeal of a request decision, or a complaint to a regulator. Contact the same address to ask about these rights or appeal a decision. We respond within applicable legal deadlines, explain relevant limitations, and do not penalize you for exercising legal privacy rights. A verified authorized representative may contact us on your behalf.
Deleting an account
Sign in and choose Delete account, then confirm with your password. The control is available before and after email verification. It blocks further account writes, retires the player number, and requests deletion of the Firestore account record and its saved game data, including the Word Search cloud save, before deleting the Firebase sign-in account. These are separate operations: wait for the success message, and use Retry deletion if the request is unfinished. If the control is unavailable, you cannot sign in, or deletion fails, email accounts@gomergames.com. We may ask for an account-ownership check.
Deletion ends access to that account. Local game saves remain on your devices unless you clear them yourself. Provider backup removal and any necessary legal or security retention follow the retention information above. Signing out, uninstalling a future app, or clearing browser storage is not the same as deleting an account.
Children and teens
Gomer Games is intended for adults and teens. Accounts are offered only to people age 13 or older. Children under 13 should use available guest play and must not create an account or provide an email through the account form. Guest play does not require an account, but the hosting and necessary technical processing described above still occurs.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or supplied personal information to us, contact privacy@gomergames.com. We will investigate, restrict the account where appropriate, and delete information collected without legally required authorization, subject to lawful exceptions. Parent or guardian permission to play is not a substitute for legally required parental consent to data collection.
We do not currently use account information for targeted advertising. Protections applicable to teens, including New York users under 18, will be considered separately before introducing additional data uses. Accepting the Terms or reading this policy does not provide blanket consent to advertising or other optional processing.
Planned advertising
We plan to use Google AdMob in a future mobile app. AdMob is not currently integrated into this website or login flow. Before introducing advertising, we will update these disclosures for the actual app, advertising providers, data uses, retention information, and available choices, and obtain any permissions or consent required for that release. This paragraph does not authorize future advertising data collection.
Security
We use provider security features and access controls designed to protect account information. No internet service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Use a unique password and report suspected account misuse or a security concern to security@gomergames.com. We will provide legally required notifications if a reportable incident occurs.
Policy changes
We will post revisions here with an updated date. For material changes to account data use, we will provide an appropriate additional notice, such as a notice in the account interface or email. Where a new use requires consent, we will request it before that use begins. Publishing a revised policy alone does not supply that consent.
